Francine Fisch – the enabler of Ralf Fisch Gallery.

It’s uncanny that as a young Dutch immigrant, Francine’s father, Johannes, completed his apprenticeship in motor mechanics on Beetles, and today is still restoring them with as much fervour and enthusiasm as he had sixty years ago. Marrying a Volkswagen enthusiast was a natural progression and Francine had no other choice but to be ingrained into the vintage Volkswagen culture. Today she shares the families love of Kombi’s & Beetle’s and is the Director of Fisch and Co. Specialising in hiring Volkswagens for weddings, special events and film productions.

Ralf and Francine’s story naturally and poetically intwines through the theme of jewellery. As a consequence of Ralf’s watchmaking apprenticeship, he was transferred to the Jewellery department at Myer, Knox City, where Francine worked. After Ralf’s first day he is quoted as saying Today I met the woman I am going to marry. After establishing a friendship, they dated, got engaged and married (1991). They have since had 4 incredible children including Mitchell Fisch and are now awaiting the arrival of their first grandchild in January, 2021.

In 2000, with their fourth child on the way, Ralf and Francine began Ralf Fisch Fine Jewellery in their dining room of the family home in The Basin, Melbourne.

After a few years of working from home, the need came to relocate. Ralf’s reputation as an artistic, creative and reliable jeweller was spreading fast and his clientele was rapidly growing. With a beautiful and supportive wife, Francine and his young family of four fabulous children, Ralf didn’t want to waste precious time travelling to and from work and the decision to stay in the area was made. The Basin had a quaint strip of shops that ticked all of the boxes for Ralf and Francine, and in early 2003, 1315 Mountain Hwy, The Basin became the new home of Ralf Fisch Fine Jewellery.

Francine is a strong supportive woman, loving mother and continues to be the driver and enabler of this family of artists. Francine is a skilled self taught photographer and many of the photos on the Ralf Fisch Fine Jewellery website are taken by the hand of Francine. Francine ensures that no editing or manipulation occurs, offering a true and authentic representation of each item.
